Compensation: $18-$22/hr depending on experience
Animal Specialty Center (ASC), a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Yonkers, NY, is seeking compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistants to join our team.
This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine while working alongside experienced technicians, specialists, and emergency clinicians.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Veterinary experience pr
- Veterinary Assistant preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
Key Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain patients
- Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient care and treatments
- Monitor and record patient information and vital signs
- Perform laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging procedures
- Communicate with clients as directed
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, inventory, and equipment throughout the hospital
- Make and present estimates to clients for diagnostics, treatments, and/or hospitalization
- Communicate with pharmacies regarding patient prescriptions as directed by veterinarians.
