About the role
Position Overview
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the building infrastructure and systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility operations. The Facilities Technician will ensure that the building is functional, safe, and well-maintained, handling both routine maintenance and emergency repairs as needed. This position is critical to ensure the smooth operation and safety of our facility. This role requires proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
:
Building Maintenance
: Perform regular inspections and maintenance of facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, fire safety equipment, and general infrastructure.
Repairs
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
Preventative Maintenance
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of building systems and equipment, following scheduled intervals.
Facility Upkeep
Manage general upkeep of the building, including painting, carpet replacement, floor care, and other tasks that ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment.
Safety Compliance
Ensure that the facility adheres to safety standards and regulations, including fire safety, emergency exits, and hazard prevention. Report all safety issues immediately.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and any other relevant facility information.
Equipment Management
Assist with the management and inventory of tools, equipment, and materials used in facility maintenance.
Collaboration
Work closely with other departments, including operations and security teams, to address facility-related concerns and improve overall building function.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Proven experience as a Facilities Technician or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
- Basic understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical labor as required.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Technical certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or related trade.

Working Conditions
This role may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on building needs and emergencies.
Physical demands include walking, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Will be required to lift 20lbs occasionally.
