About the role

Salary: £113565.00 to £150569.00

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Haematopathology (10PAs) to be placed in the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The main duties of this post include reporting bone marrow trephine biopsies, lymph node biopsies and other relevant solid tissue samples in the context of a Specialist Integrated Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (SIHMDS). Applicants should have experience of independent integrated reporting of haematopathology specimens, preferably within a SIHMDS or equivalent.

The successful candidate will join an established team of consultant, scientific and technical staff to support the diagnosis and management of haematological malignancies. HODS is a UKAS-accredited SIHMDS which acts as the primary referral centre in East Anglia for patients with known or suspected haematological malignancies. The service works closely with the East Genomic Laboratory Hub on site at Cambridge University Hospitals. Strong links also exist with the multiple Cambridge University research groups working on haematological malignancies.
