About the role
Job Summary
- The Accounting Specialist aids in processing claims and receivables and facilitating collections for AAA Moving and Storage. This is an in-person position at our Anchorage, AK facility. Compensation will be $23-$25 per hour depending on experience.
- Essential Functions and Duties: Post receivables into accounting software subsequent to appropriate research of the payment.
- Process credit card payments for monthly storage after verifying invoices have been generated and posted to accounting software.
- Ensure collections efforts are conducting according to the regulations of the State of Alaska and the state within which the customer resides.
- Assemble paperwork to send to attorney for collection purposes, as needed.
- Work assigned shifts.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of, or ability to learn, company software
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn accounting software
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating over the phone and through writing
- Knowledge of accounting/general bookkeeping procedures
- Knowledge and/or proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Required Education and Experience: Required: High school diploma
- Preferred: Prior receivables experience
- Preferred: Prior collections experience
