SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant SEMH Specialism

Salary: Grade 6 SCP 23-27(£35,570 - £39,481 per annum, pro-rata)

• An NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
• Excellent classroom practice and are able to lead a room and adapt provision to meet need.
• Experience and expertise in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, including strategies for self-regulation and resilience.
• Experience of working within trauma-informed and relational approaches to behaviour support.
• Experience of implementing de-escalation strategies to support pupils experiencing distress.
• Experience in delivering bespoke, nurturing curricula for pupils who may be working below age-related expectation and require personalised learning pathways.
• The ability to support and develop communication-friendly and emotionally supportive environments.
• Understand the factors influencing attendance and engagement for vulnerable pupils.
• The ability to adapt provision for pupils with SEND and EAL, ensuring inclusive and high-quality learning experiences.
