Description
Position Description: The Athletic Coach provides high-quality instruction and leadership that develops basic athletic skills, fosters a love for physical activity, and models Christian character both on and off the field. Coaches will guide students in teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and respect, reflecting the values of Christ in every interaction.
Qualifications:
Vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Proficient in both technical and tactical skills related to specific sport
Certified in emergency care procedures (CPR, IMPACT, First Aid, and AED)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion for the mission of Delmarva Christian Schools
Infinite hope in the success of every student
Responsibilities
:
Uphold and enforce school and Board policies
Facilitate daily practices to train student athletes in both technical and tactical skills in order to improve both individual and team performance
Attend DCS coaches professional development workshops
Be available for professional development opportunities
Keep up to date on schedules by signing up for updates on Websites4sports for every sport, and by communicating with the Athletic Director
Maintain accurate box-score information in Royalssports.com

Maintain open lines of communication with parents and students
Maintain confidence in and hope for the success of every student
Speak to the heart of the student while enforcing classroom rules and School policy

Growth:
Actively promote the school in the community
Support extra curricular activities through attendance of events throughout the school year
Participate as needed in development and recruitment activities
Follows the biblical conflict resolution process as detailed in the Employee Handbook when addressing concerns or disagreements
Holds a growth-mindset to be mentored or mentor others
Ensure that all athletes are cared for physically, emotionally, and spiritually
Maintain open lines of communication with parents to help foster positive relationships

Physical Activities & Demands
Must be able to observe, instruct, and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team activities, and travel.
Must be able to move about athletic facilities (e.g., gymnasium, weight room, locker rooms, and fields)
Must be able to communicate effectively to provide coaching instruction, safety direction, and feedback to children and adults.
Must be able to monitor student activity across various distances indoors and outdoors
Must be able to lift, carry, or move equipment between 20-50 pounds, depending on the sport-season needs.
Must be able to tolerate outdoor weather conditions during practices and competitions (e.g., heat, cold, rain)
Must be able to respond promptly to emergency situations to ensure student safety
