About Empowered Services
Empowered Services is a one-on-one attendant care agency providing
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support
and
community-based services
to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Through our
Empowered Choice Program (ECP)
, individuals receiving services can
choose a trusted friend or family member
to become their paid Direct Support Professional (DSP).
Position Overview
We are hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) through our Friends & Family Caregiver Program .
This is a non-traditional caregiving role where you support someone you already know and are connected to (friend, family member, or trusted individual) who:
Is part of the I/DD community
Has a Service Coordinator
Qualifies for in-home support services through Medicaid
You will provide 1:1, person-centered care while Empowered Services manages payroll, onboarding, and compliance.
Important Program Details
This position is for Oregon residents only
You must be
selected by the individual receiving services
Hours are based on
state-authorized service plans
This is
not a traditional client assignment
Key Responsibilities
Provide ADL support (hygiene, meals, mobility, daily routines)
Assist with
medication reminders or support (as applicable)
Support community access (appointments, errands, activities)
Encourage
independence and skill development
Follow the individual’s
approved service plan
Maintain
professional boundaries and clear communication
Accurately
document services and daily activities
Ensure a
safe, respectful, and supportive environment

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
Must be
- chosen by the individual receiving services
- Ability to pass a background check through the State of Oregon (not all records are disqualifying)
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
Comfortable providing
personal care support
