SUMMARY
- The Refrigeration Operator uses their hands-on knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and experience working with industrial refrigeration components to accomplish preventative and predictive maintenance tasks of the refrigeration department of the assigned facility
- .
- Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment, such as compressors, ammonia pumps condensing towers, etc.
- Full understanding of the refrigeration cycle
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and assigned work orders
- Perform troubleshooting activities, as necessary.
- Performs quality checks as required by position and/or product at assigned facility
- Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required
- High school or equivalent AND 5+ years of experience in Refrigeration, Maintenance, or similar skill set
- Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) or ability to obtain.
- Ammonia Refrigeration (2 stage system)
- Able to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License
Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
Speak, read & write fluently in English
Preferred
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification
Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to handle multiple projects at one time
