About the Role

Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow in confidence and achieve their potential?

Greenacres Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team and play an important part in creating positive learning experiences for our pupils.

Working alongside teachers and colleagues, you'll support children in the classroom, individually and in small groups, helping them engage with their learning, develop independence and feel confident to participate in school life.

Every day will bring something different - and plenty of opportunities to see the impact your support can make.

In this role, you will:

  • Support pupils with their learning in the classroom, individually and in small groups
  • Help deliver engaging learning activities and targeted interventions
  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive attitudes to learning
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
  • Work closely with teachers and colleagues to support pupil progress
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels valued

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children and is passionate about helping them succeed
  • Builds warm, positive and professional relationships with pupils
  • Is patient, encouraging and able to adapt their approach to different children
  • Is proactive, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Is ideally qualified to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Is keen to learn and develop their skills
  • Shares our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and giving every child the best possible experience at school

Experience working with children would be an advantage, but just as important is the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to making a difference.

What We Offer

At Greenacres Primary School, support staff are an important part of our school community. You'll join a welcoming and collaborative team where your contribution is valued and you'll be encouraged to develop and grow.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Enhanced family-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity and paternity provision
  • A comprehensive wellbeing offer, including our Employee Assistance Programme, Mental Health First Aiders and Occupational Health support
