About the role

Salary: £14.80 an hour

The Community Dementia Assistant will play an important role within Jewish Cares Community Dementia Team, supporting people living with dementia and their families to remain connected, active and included within their communities. Working 24 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, the postholder will be based primarily at the Sandringham Campus in Hertfordshire, with regular travel across other local hubs and community areas. The role involves supporting the delivery of community dementia programmes and activities, building trusted relationships with people and families, coordinating volunteers and developing connections with synagogues, community organisations and health and social care professionals. You will also contribute to dementia awareness, training, monitoring attendance and feedback, identifying local needs and developing services that respond to the needs of the community.

We are looking for a warm, compassionate and community-focused Community Dementia Assistant to join our Community Dementia Team in Hertfordshire. This is a varied role where you will help people living with dementia and their families access meaningful activities, practical support and opportunities for connection. You will build trusted relationships, support community programmes, coordinate volunteers and work with synagogues, community organisations and health and social care professionals to strengthen local networks. You will also help promote dementia awareness, challenge stigma and identify opportunities to improve our services. You do not need a formal dementia qualification; we are looking for someone with community experience, an understanding of dementia and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference.
