Description
Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking a dependable Per Diem Housekeeping Aide to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and families.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates respect and compassion for residents, and understands the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces
Perform routine housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal
Follow infection control and safety procedures in accordance with facility guidelines
Replenish supplies in resident rooms and common areas
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility
Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents at all times
Work cooperatively with residents, families, staff, and other members of the care team

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care, is a plus
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Compassionate and respectful approach when working around elderly and disabled residents
Basic computer skills
