About the role
The Governors of Melbourne Infant & Nursery School wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis, starting from November 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter; and working until 31st August 2027 (or until the child leaves the provision).
The successful candidate will work within one of our KS1 classes, providing support to a child with special educational needs - helping to ensure their personal, social and emotional learning needs are met.
If you
- Have experience working with a child / children with social and emotional needs;
- Have a calm and caring nature;
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification;

Experience working with children on a 1:1 basis is desirable. An understanding of Attention Autism and/or Lego Therapy would be ideal; but training in these areas will be provided for the successful candidate.
The working pattern for this role will be 7 hours per week; 1-3.20pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
We also have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant working 6.5 hours on Thursday and Friday mornings, until December 2026. Candidates are very welcome to apply for both positions should they wish; however, applications for one position only are also very welcome.
