Job Description Summary:
Municipal Emergency Services, Inc. (MES) is looking for a full-time Service Courier and Technician for our Long Island, NY facility. Under general supervision, our courier is responsible for providing courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of various items, emphasizing safety and customer service. This position also mandates on-the-job training to become a Service Technician and to obtain certification in SCBA Repair and Hydro Testing. The ideal candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance of the Long Island, NY area.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Receive daily route information from the dispatcher/manager
Safely transport packages, customer orders, and other related materials
Strictly observe operating policies, procedures, and schedules
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior
Present a professional image to customers, suppliers, and the public through appearance and interaction
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates, customers, and suppliers
All other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma
Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Superior organization skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are a MUST
Problem-solving and analytical ability
Able to perform basic business math
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar position
One year minimum military, fire, or police experience in a volunteer or paid capacity
