Residential Plumbing Apprentice Ostrom | Roanoke, VA | Full-Time Start a trade that can't be outsourced.
Every home in the Roanoke Valley needs a plumber, and the demand isn't slowing down. Ostrom is looking for a Plumbing Apprentice who wants to learn the trade from the ground up, get paid while doing it, and build toward a license and a truck of their own. No experience needed. Apprentices are enrolled in Ostrom University, our in-house training program built to fast-track you toward becoming a licensed plumber.
What You'll Do
Work alongside lead plumbers on service calls, installs, and repairs: water heaters, fixtures, and copper, PEX, and PVC piping
Learn to track down leaks, low water pressure, and drainage problems like a pro
Get hands-on with the tools of the trade, including pipe threaders, soldering and brazing equipment, and diagnostic tools
Keep your truck stocked, clean, and ready to roll
Protect every customer's home with drop cloths and shoe covers, and leave it spotless
Represent Ostrom with courtesy and respect in every home you walk into
Follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and local plumbing codes
Requirements
What You Bring
A strong work ethic and the drive to become a licensed plumber
Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand and power tools
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in crawl spaces, basements, and all kinds of weather
Prior plumbing, construction, or hands-on experience is a plus, but not required
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
