• Create a warm, welcoming, and elegant dining atmosphere by preparing table settings, maintaining service stations, and ensuring all areas are clean, organised, and guest‑ready in line with Princess standards.
• Provide attentive table service throughout each meal period, taking accurate food and beverage orders, serving items in the correct sequence and timing, and ensuring all brand service steps are consistently followed.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of all menus, daily specials, wine lists, and beverage offerings, confidently making recommendations and upselling based on guest preferences and dietary requirements.
• Use onboard tools and technology, including the POS system and MedallionClass applications, to manage orders, personalise service, and support a seamless guest experience.
• Monitor guest satisfaction at every stage of the dining experience, promptly addressing concerns and resolving issues or escalating them to the Restaurant Manager or senior leaders when needed.
• Observe and remember guest preferences, special occasions, and service expectations, proactively tailoring interactions to surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise.
• Ensure tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset efficiently between courses and guest seatings, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene at all times.
• Promote wine, beverage packages, and Specialty Dining venues in a genuine and unobtrusive way, contributing to Food & Beverage revenue targets while enhancing the overall guest experience.
• Collaborate closely with teammates across the restaurant and wider Food & Beverage team to support smooth operations during peak periods, special events, and promotional activities.
• Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (HESS) and public health guidelines, including sanitation and food safety procedures, to maintain a safe and compliant dining environment.
• Food & Beverage Experience: Minimum of three years’ fine dining experience as a Waiter or Restaurant Supervisor in a large hospitality setting (such as luxury hotels or resorts), plus at least one year of cruise ship experience in a similar role.
• Service & Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards, international cuisine, and wine service, with the confidence to guide guests through menus and make thoughtful recommendations.
• Guest Service Excellence: Deep understanding of guest service fundamentals and a genuine commitment to delivering warm, personalised, and memorable experiences for every guest.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with guests and teammates from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Sales & Upselling Ability: Confidence in promoting wine, beverages, and Specialty Dining experiences in a way that enhances the overall dining experience and supports Food & Beverage revenue targets.
• Interpersonal Skills: Personable communicator with excellent social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality, able to build rapport quickly and maintain professional relationships.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a multicultural team, supporting colleagues, sharing information, and contributing to a positive onboard culture.
• Attention to Detail: High standards for cleanliness, presentation, and service accuracy, with the ability to follow brand standards and standard operating procedures consistently.
• Resilience & Motivation: High level of motivation and resilience, with the ability to perform in a fast‑paced, high‑volume shipboard environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
