Industrial Designer
Location: High Point, NC
Employment Type: Full ‑ time, On ‑ site (open to candidates who are willing to relocate)
About the Role
:
- We are seeking a n Industrial Designer to support the design and development of consumer-level products from concept through production. This role is ideal for a
- designer who is eager to build hands-on experience, contribute creative ideas, and collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Support the end-to-end design process, including ideation, sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, and refinements
- Translate creative concepts into functional, manufacturable designs
- Develop CAD models, drawings, and basic renderings for product concepts
- Assist in material selection , finishes, colors, and surface treatments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, sourcing, marketing)
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior designers and stakeholders
- Support preparation of design documentation for tooling and manufacturing
- Stay informed on consumer trends, materials, and design innovations
Other related tasks
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design
- or a related field
- 2 - 5 years of professional experience or relevant internships in product or industrial design
- Foundational proficiency in CAD and design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot , Onshape , Adobe Creative Suite)
Strong
- mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply basic engineering concepts
- Strong sketching and visual communication skills
- Basic understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
- Ability to receive feedback, iterate designs, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing consumer products (home goods, lifestyle, electronics, furniture, or similar)
- Exposure to mass production, tooling constraints, or supplier collaboration
- Familiarity with prototype fabrication methods (3D printing, mock-ups)
- Portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving, and aesthetics
