Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.
Experience
Urgent care experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.
License/Certifications
Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).
Equipment
EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
PAY RANGE
$23.00 - $32.61

Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
