Midday Supervisor and Playtime Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor and playtime leader. The appointed person will be responsible, during the lunchtime break, for the supervision, safety, general welfare, leading creative play and conduct of children.

Main duties/responsibilities to include

• Develop, lead and work as part of a dynamic and committed team.
• Setting up and clearing away the dining areas of any tables and chairs.
• The supervision of the children's entry into the dining room.
• Ensuring dining areas are clean and tidy.
• Ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Have a good understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and the principles of inclusion.
• Have a commitment to the importance of play.
• Organising play/games as appropriate.
• Supervision of children in the playground or other area of the school as required, dealing with any incidents of inappropriate behaviour in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy.
• Assisting children who are unwell.
• Prepared to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility is key in this position and you must be comfortable supervising groups using your own initiative.
• There will be some record keeping required, therefore, you will need a good standard of spoken and written English, preferably GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent.
• This position will involve lifting tables and chairs, with additional support, therefore the successful applicant will need to be physically fit.
