About the role
About the Work Unit
- The Folkmann Lab in the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University studies the function, structure, and regulation of biomolecular condensates.
- These macroscopic structures spatially organize biological functions and biochemical reactions within the cell.
- The lab is particularly interested in understanding how biomolecular condensates contribute to proper animal embryogenesis and development.
- To investigate these mechanisms, the lab uses multidisciplinary approaches including biochemistry, biophysics, genome editing, cell biology, single-molecule imaging, and super-resolution imaging.
- The research team includes faculty, undergraduate students, and graduate students. Key
