Overview
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Non-Certified Substitute Teaching
High school diploma or GED equivalent and
completion of the SubSkills training course
OR
Effective Teacher Training (ETT).
You may complete the online SubSkills training course with a score of 80% or higher (https://www.stedi.org/wake-county/)
OR;
You may take the ETT course at a NC community college.
Upon completion of the SubSkills course or ETT, please upload your certificate of completion to your online application.
Please Note
WCPSS will accept certificates from the courses listed above and the previously accepted App-Garden certificates of completion from other N.C. school systems.
Certified Substitute Teaching
WCPSS will accept a state issued teaching license (any state, current or expired) in lieu of completing the SubSkills or ETT course.
Current Student Teachers
In lieu of the SubSkills/ETT course, you may upload
ONE
of the following to satisfy the minimum requirement.
A letter from the university stating when student teaching was completed and a reference from the cooperating teacher
OR;
Provide an official/unofficial transcript showing completion of student teaching.
