About the role
Overview
A warm Georgetown family is seeking an experienced, dependable full-time Nanny for their 2 young boys (soon to be 4 and 2). This is a long-term role for someone who will become a consistent, trusted presence in the boys' lives and grow with the family. Daily care includes playgroup, preschool pickup, naptime, play dates and light household help.
The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6:30pm, with the option for additional hours. The family also needs flexibility for occasional evenings, and prefers candidates with availability on some weekends, occasional overnights, and potentially travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, engaging, and consistent care for 2 active young boys
- Handle preschool pickup and stay with the younger son throughout playgroup, walking to and from both
- Manage nap time and the afternoon routine, including snacks, play, and outings
- Support the boys' development, routines, and daily structure as they grow
- Assist with children's laundry, light family meal preparation, tidying, and general household organization
- Work alongside the family's existing housekeeping help, who will continue to handle deeper cleaning
- Travel with the family domestically and internationally when needed, including pack and unpack and travel day care
- Remain flexible for occasional evenings, weekends, and overnights
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional nanny experience in a private home
- Calm, warm, patient, and dependable personality
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with parents
- Comfortable managing light household tasks alongside childcare
- Open to a nanny and household manager arrangement
- Long term employment history preferred
Requirements
- Full legal eligibility to work in the United States
- Strong verifiable references from comparable private household roles
CPR certified
Flexible for occasional evenings, weekends, overnights, and travel
Valid passport preferred
Swimming skills are a plus
Valid Driver’s License
Salary and Benefits
$40 to $45 per hour based on experience
