Montague Medical Practice, in Goole, East Yorkshire, is seeking a compassionate and proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support
the delivery of high-quality patient care within our busy GP surgery. The hours of work will be 23 hours per week, and working
under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse and strictly in
accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare
assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery
of prescribed programmes of patient care
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Phlebotomy (taking blood samples)
Blood pressure checks
ECGs
NHS Health Checks
Routine health screening
Chronic disease monitoring support
Wound care & dressings
- Administering B12 injections, Shingles, Pneumococcal and flu vaccinations (if appropriately trained)
- Assisting with minor surgery and clinics
- Maintaining clinical equipment and stock
- Updating patient records accurately on the clinical system
- Supporting the nursing team and GPs as required
- Promoting health education and wellbeing
